The Head of IT – Infrastructure will oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of the company’s IT infrastructure. This role is responsible for ensuring the availability, performance, and security of the network, servers, cloud services, data centers, and related technologies. The successful candidate will lead a team of infrastructure professionals and work closely with other IT and business leaders to align IT infrastructure with business objectives and ensure optimal performance and security.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership & Planning:

• Develop and implement the IT infrastructure strategy in alignment with overall IT and business objectives.
• Lead the evaluation and implementation of new infrastructure technologies and systems.
• Forecast and manage the IT infrastructure budget, ensuring cost-efficiency and return on investment.
• Plan and oversee disaster recovery and business continuity strategies.

Infrastructure Management:

• Oversee the management and optimization of servers, storage, networks, and data centres.
• Ensure high availability, scalability, and reliability of IT systems and services.
• Lead cloud infrastructure initiatives, ensuring seamless integration between on-premise and cloud systems.
• Develop and maintain IT infrastructure policies, processes, and procedures.

Security & Compliance:

• Ensure infrastructure security and compliance with relevant regulations (e.g., GDPR, ISO)
• Collaborate with the security team to implement robust network security measures and monitor infrastructure for vulnerabilities.
• Conduct regular risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies to safeguard company data and assets.

Team Leadership & Collaboration:

• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of IT infrastructure professionals.
• Foster a collaborative culture between the infrastructure team and other IT departments, such as application development, security, and support.
• Work closely with vendors, consultants, and external partners to ensure effective service delivery and support.

Performance Monitoring & Continuous Improvement:

• Monitor and report on the performance of IT infrastructure, identifying opportunities for improvement.
• Ensure that IT infrastructure systems are scalable to meet future business demands.
• Stay current with the latest technology trends, innovations, and best practices, and integrate them into the organization’s IT roadmap.

Vendor & Contract Management:

• Manage relationships with infrastructure service providers, hardware vendors, and cloud service providers.
• Negotiate and manage contracts, SLAs, and service agreements to ensure optimal performance and cost management.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
• Minimum 10 years of experience in IT infrastructure, with at least 5 years in a leadership or management role.
• Proven track record of managing complex IT infrastructure environments, including on-premise and cloud services.
• Experience in designing and implementing disaster recovery, backup, and business continuity plans.
• In-depth knowledge of infrastructure technologies, including networking (LAN/WAN), virtualization, cloud computing (AWS, Azure), storage solutions, and security.
• Hands-on experience with systems like Windows, Linux, and network monitoring tools.
• Strong understanding of ITIL frameworks and best practices.
• Excellent leadership, team management, and mentoring skills.
• Strong project management abilities, with a focus on timely and effective delivery.
• Ability to communicate complex technical issues to non-technical stakeholders.
