Flying to Argentina

Flying to Argentina: Due to an increase in cases throughout the country, Argentina has extended its mandatory lockdown and tightened some of its travel restrictions. Here’s what you need to know about operating flights to Argentina during COVID-19.

Buenos Aires has the second highest concentration of COVID cases in Argentina and officials have implemented new restrictions on some of the commercial activities and public transport in areas with the highest population density.

Flight restrictions 

Argentina has a commercial flight ban until September 1, one of the world’s strictest travel measures during the pandemic.

General aviation is currently not possible except for the following operations:

• Repatriation flights for Argentine citizens who have been stranded overseas
• Repatriation of foreign nationals that are currently stranded in Argentina and need to return to their home country

Permits

Both private non-revenue and non-scheduled commercial will require a landing permit. Standard documentation will be required and ANAC suggests 72 hours for processing of the permit.

Immigration

Restrictions are not imposed to any particular nationalities at this time.  Argentine nationals may return to Argentina.

Health screening 

A health form, which UAS can provide, must be completed by both passengers and crew and presented before health officials upon arrival. A temperature check will also be done.

Quarantine

A 14-day quarantine is being imposed on arriving passengers. Crew members are currently exempted from the quarantine requirement.  Overnight for crew rest is allowed. Only SAEZ and SADF will allow these types of flights to operate. No other Points of Entry will allow these types of flights to operate.

International flights

Only SAEZ and SADF will allow these types of flights to operate. No other Points of Entry will allow these types of flights to operate.

SAEZ is currently operating with restrictions and is open 24/7. At this time, there are currently no staffing or equipment shortages. The following services are currently available:

• Fuel- 24/7 on request
• CIQ- 24/7 on request
• FBO Lounge
• Ground Transportation
• Catering
• Security Services

SADF is currently operating with restrictions. At this time, there are currently no staffing or equipment shortages being reported. The airport is generally operating 24/7, however, there may some runway closures at night due to work in progress. The following services are currently available:

• Fuel-24/7 on request
• CIQ- 1100 Local to 2000 Local
• FBO Lounge
• Ground Transportation
• Catering

Domestic flights

Regarding domestic flight operations, only medevac, humanitarian, government and state flights are being allowed to operate domestically withing the country.
