Flight Operations to Bengaluru: Planning an operation to Bengaluru for Aero India? Here’s what you need to know.

Aero India gets underway from February 14-18 at Yelahanka Air Force station – the popular military and business aircraft air show destination in Bengaluru. Generally, business jets operate to VOBL or VOBG – both in the vicinity of Yelahanka. It is only on the occasion of Aero India that business aircraft are permitted to operate to VOYK. Bengaluru International Airport (VOBL) is the nearest airport with full facilities for people traveling to Bangalore in a commercial airliner. It’s located approximately 15km from VOYK by highway. Here are the operational procedures for VOBL and VOYK.

Operational Information

• Overflight permits are required for both private and non-scheduled flights

• The lead time for permits from non-PRC countries is three working days
• For flights originating from PRC Countries, the lead time is seven days
• There are no parking restrictions

Yelanhanka Air Force Station

Operational Information

• Overflight permits are not required for private and non-scheduled flights
• Landing permits are required for both private and non-scheduled flights
• Landing permits can be obtained through your agent
• The lead time for permits at a military base is three weeks
• There are no parking restrictions at this station
• Ground handling for international jets can be arranged

Immigration

• Standard Immigration processes for both crew and passengers at VOBL
• Additionally, immigration teams will be deployed to assist crew and passengers landing at VOYK

Customs

• Custom teams will be deployed to assist crew and passengers landing at VOYK
• Travelers can carry the equivalent of USD 5,000

Airport Embarkation Tax

• Will be paid by the ground handler of the charter jet
• Will be included in the air ticket if using a commercial aircraft to VOBL
