World leaders are descending on Paris this weekend as the UN Climate Change Conference gets underway. With input from more than 190 nations, CPO21 is part of on-going efforts to agree on a new global deal tackling climate change by cutting down on greenhouse gas emissions. The summit will begin on Monday, November 30 and run through Friday, December 11. The main events will center at Le Bourget.

Here is some information you’ll need if you’re planning to travel to Paris.

Parking

To operate a private flight in LFPO/ORY, you must fulfill at least one of the following:

  1. Flight in connection with a scheduled Airline
  2. Diplomatic or Military flight

A night ban applies at LFPO/ORY as follows:

  • Arrivals are not allowed (on block) between 23h29LT & 06H20LT
  • Departures are not allowed (off block) between 23h19LT and 06H00LT

Parking

There are some restrictions for business jet in LFPG; it’s necessary to fulfill at least one of the conditions:

  1. Flight in connection with a scheduled Airline.
  2. Inbound and outbound non-Schengen
  3. Aircraft with more than 25 seats
  4. The owner is on board
  5. Closure of LFPB in case of departure after 2010Z

Note: The maximum parking time at Charles de Gaulle is 4 hours.

A night ban applies at LFPG / CDG as follows:

  • Arrivals are not allowed (on block) between 00h30LT & 05H30LT
  • Departures are not allowed (off block) between 00h00LT and 05H00LT
  • Any infringements of this are subject to a fine from French CAA (up to €20,000)

Operational Information:

Private flights

  • OVF / LNG permits are not required
  • UAS can assist with a slot

Non-Scheduled flights

  • No landing permit is required if the operator is coming from their country
  • It is advisable to check with DGAC

Baggage can be cleared at any airport in France.

The baggage of passengers whose destination is outside France in transit via Paris, International Airport Charles de Gaulle or Orly is exempt.

Airport Embarkation Tax

No airport tax is levied on passengers.

Currency

The local currency is Euro (EUR)

There are no restrictions on Euro and foreign currencies if you are arriving from, or traveling, to another EU Member State.

The same regulations apply for import and export.

Amounts exceeding EUR 10,000 or more (or the equivalent in another currency), including banker’s draft and checks of any kind, must be declared if arriving directly from or traveling to a country outside the EU.
