Tunisia updates entry requirements

The Tunisian government has announced new measures to curb the spread of COVID-19 in the country.

Since November 16, travelers must present a negative PCR test result less than 72 hours before boarding any Tunisia-bound aircraft.

Authorities may conduct random rapid screening tests on passengers and positive cases will be expected to quarantine and may choose between spending this mandatory quarantine period in a hotel or in their homes following approval by local health services.

The quarantine period is considered over if a PCR test conducted after one week in Tunisia is found to be negative.

In cases where symptoms appear during the isolation period, the PCR test will be conducted by local health authorities at the state’s expense.

Tunisia reopened its borders on June 27 when it created country classifications for those eligible to visit as tourists.
