Taking a moment for GA Safety: In Support of the National Pause for General Aviation Safety –  At UAS, safety has always been at the heart of our operations. From advanced trip planning to comprehensive risk assessments and real-time operational support, our commitment to safety is about protecting people but also about elevating the standards of aviation excellence globally. This is why I’m so enthusiastic to share our full support for the National Pause for General Aviation Safety—a nationwide initiative launched in the U.S. on April 1 and backed by the FAA Safety Team, AOPA, NBAA, EAA, and 22 leading aviation organizations across the country.

2024 marked the safest year in general aviation history according to the FAA (Federal Aviation Administration). This can be attributed to a combination of factors such as cockpit technology innovation, improved training, and a massive industry-wide effort. Continuous progress has been made in recent decades: the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA) have stated that over the past 30 years that have seen a 60% drop in GA fatal accident rates. That said, achieving optimal safety requires ongoing focus.

This is the first time a coalition of general aviation organizations have united to deliver a simple yet essential message to pilots: take a moment to reflect and recommit to safety. The six-month initiative is asking them to dedicate just 15 to 60 minutes to sharpening their safety practices using a curated library of content available at GAsafe.org. These resources are tailored to different forms of flying including jets, seaplanes, and helicopters, and covers all kinds of different flying environments.

UAS is more than a trip support provider—it is an advocate for a safer and smarter aviation ecosystem. This initiative aligns perfectly with our mission of operational excellence and continuous improvement, and I encourage our clients and every pilot, regardless of geographical location, to get involved by visiting www.GAsafe.org.

Let’s all take this opportunity to do what we can to enhance flight safety.
