Customs

Visitors are entitled to a duty-free allowance for alcohol if the following conditions are met:

  • They are over 18 years of age
  • They have spent over 48 hours outside Singapore immediately before their arrival
  • They have not come from Malaysia
  • The alcohol is for their own consumption
  • The alcohol is not prohibited under section 38 of the Customs Act

Visitors can choose one of the following options:

  • 1 liter of spirits, 1 liter or wine, and 1 liter of beer
  • 2 liters of wine and 1 liter of beer
  • 1 liter of wine and 2 liters of beer

The following are prohibited in Singapore:

  • Chewing gum
  • Chewing and shisha tobacco
  • Electronic cigarettes
  • Controlled drugs
  • Firecrackers
  • Obscene articles, publications, and software
  • Reproduction of copyright publications, video tapes, discs
  • Seditious materials
