The 2022 FIFA World Cup gets underway in Qatar from November 20 to December 18 this year. Here’s what operators and visitors need to know about Qatar entry requirements for passengers and crew.

All passengers must hold the following documents to enter Qatar:

  • Match tickets
  • Proof of up-to-date COVID-19 vaccination and boosters
  • Proof of negative PCR
  • Digital Hayya card

General rules

  • The Qatar Entry Registration is a mandatory travel document for all international travelers and will record their health and personal information, including a negative PCR test result
  • Proof of vaccination status is required for stadium entry, as well as the use of public transport, via the Qatari government Ehteraz app 
  • Al Hosn, other GCC-approved mobile apps, the European pass app, and UK’s NHS Covid Pass will be accepted
  • Please ensure visitors’ passports are valid for at least six months

Hayya card

  • Anyone wishing to visit Doha during the World Cup must have a digital Hayya card
  • This is a pre-approved entry permit into Qatar and can only be accessed once in possession of an official match ticket
  • The Hayya card is essential for stadium entry and also gives holders access to free bus services and the Doha Metro from November 11 – December 23
  • Register for the Hayya Card on the FIFA website

Crew

Crew is permitted to enter Qatar for a maximum period of 96 hours as long as they are:

  • Fully vaccinated against COVID-19 with a vaccine approved by the Qatari Ministry of Public Health 
  • Carrying a valid vaccination certificate in Arabic or English
  • Holding a negative PCR test result taken within 72 hours of arrival in Qatar

Note:

  • In cases where the crew member’s vaccine is only conditionally approved by MOPH, the crew member must also present a positive serology antibody test
  • Unvaccinated crew members are prohibited from entering Qatar
