India Extends Suspension of International Commercial Flights

India has extended the suspension of international commercial passenger flights to and from the country until February 28.

In order to manage the impact of COVID-19, the Indian Government has placed several restrictions in the country.

At the beginning of the pandemic, India had banned the operation of international flights on March 23, 2020, to contain and control the spread of COVID-19.

Flight restrictions, however, were later eased under air bubble arrangements with certain countries.

India has now extended the suspension of international commercial passenger airlines to and from the country till 2359hrs IST on February 28, 2022.

This restriction shall not apply to international cargo operations and flights specifically approved by the DGCA.

It is clarified to all concerned that all international flights under existing Bubble Agreements shall continue to operate.
